President of South Korea Lee Myung-bak thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for caring about ethnic Koreans living in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports.

“I am very thankful to Kazakhstan President for the special care about over 100 thousand ethnic Koreans living in your country, for supporting us at the world stage and supporting our position in relation to North Korea,” Lee Myung-bak said after negotiations with his Kazakhstan counterpart in Astana on August 25.

According to Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan pays much attention to the community of 100 thousand Koreans. “We had very intense negotiations, where we summarized the agreements that we achieved earlier. We discussed the situation on Korean peninsula, nuclear disarmament and non-profileration,” Kazakhstan President said after the meeting.

Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked Lee Myung-bak for opening the Alley of Kazakhstan in the capital of South Korea when being a mayor of Seoul and awarding Kazakhstan President a title of honorary resident of Seoul. Lee Myung-bak noted that Nursultan Nazarbayev is welcome to visit South Korea without visa any time.

Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted the invitation to take part in anti-nuclear forum in Seoul in March 2012.
