Central Asia must not let be destabilized: Medvedev

Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev and talked about the necessity to coordinate the actions with the partners in Central Asia to prevent the events happening in the Middle East, RIA Novosti writes. "Let's discuss the regional security, as a lot of processes happening in the Middle East, Syria and Iran have a direct effect on the situation in our region. It is very important for Russia to coordinate its actions with its closest partners and allies so that the situation in our region, I mean Central Asia, is more stable than today, especially since the negative course of events can have a great effect on us," Medvedev said. The President of Russia also suggested to discuss development of economic relations between Moscow and Bishkek, as well as cooperation of the allied structures. Atambayev in his turn said that he attended the ceremony of opening the memorial to Kyrgyz national character Manas in Moscow. "I have heard from some politicians that Asians are only good for wiping floors. And I am upset that these people do not remember the history," Atambayev said. "You know, that Kutuzov is a descendant of Kutuz, Turgenev is a descentant of Turgan. We have so many bloods mixed in us."
