Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Beijing is expected to secure multi-billion dollar investments for Kazakhstan’s economy, presidential press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay told Tengrinews.kz.
Tokayev will attend the Kazakhstan–China Business Council meeting, where more than 70 agreements worth over $15 billion are expected to be signed between over 100 Kazakh and Chinese companies.
“These agreements cover key sectors such as energy, digitalization, construction, metallurgy, telecommunications, transport and logistics. The inflow of investment will not only boost financial resources but also create new jobs for Kazakhstanis,” Zheldibay said.
During the visit, Tokayev will also hold bilateral meetings with the heads of major Chinese companies. Members of Kazakhstan’s business community are part of the delegation, underscoring the focus on strengthening cooperation.
On August 30, Tokayev arrived in Tianjin to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders discussed ways to deepen trade, investment and cultural ties.
On September 1, the Kazakh president addressed both the SCO and “SCO Plus” summits.
