10 documents signed at CSTO meeting in Bishkek

10 documents have been signed after the joint meeting of the Ministers of Defense, Foreign Affairs and secretaries of the Security Councils of CSTO member-countries in Bishkek, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kyrgyzstan Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldayev. “The plan of CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) consultations for the second half of 2013 and the first half of 2014 was approved at the meeting. The documents on preparation and holding of a peacekeeping operation by collective CSTO peacemaking forces were also approved,” Abdyldayev noted. A common information center for coordination of countering international terrorism and extremism will be created upon an initiative of Russia’s Federal Security Service, the Minister said. A permanent anti-drug structure will be created under the aegis of Russian Federal Service for Drug Trafficking Control. Currently anti-drug services of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are holding the Channel joint operations for countering trans-border drug business. The next meeting of the Ministers of Defense, Foreign Affairs and secretaries of the Security Councils of CSTO member-countries will be held in Moscow in the end of 2013. The informal summit of heads of CSTO member-states will be held in Bishkek on May 28. The meeting will be attended by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.
