Tengrinews.kz – The developers of the WhatsApp messenger have decided to limit the number of messages that users and companies can send to strangers without receiving a reply, according to TechCrunch.
All messages that users and businesses send to unfamiliar contacts will now count toward a new monthly limit. This limit will not apply if the sender receives at least one reply from the recipient.
The service has not specified exactly what the restrictions will be, as various limit options are still being tested. However, when a company or individual approaches the established threshold, WhatsApp will notify them - allowing users to avoid being blocked for sending further messages.
According to the source, the new feature will be launched in test mode in several countries in the coming weeks. It is also noted that regular users generally do not exceed the limit, so the change will not affect normal communication on the platform.
Instead, the new mechanism is designed to effectively combat spam, which continues to spread actively across the network.
