Kazakhstan to observe Family Day first time on September 8

On September 8 Kazakhstan will observe the Family Day for the first time, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the spokesman of Central Communication Services for President of Kazakhstan Altai Abibullayev. "Kazakhstan will celebrate the Family Day on September 8 for the first time. This day was declared a holiday by the a presidential decree and will be celebrated on second Sunday of September every year," Abibullayev said during the briefing.He pointed out that Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev always attaches a lot of attention to the role of the family in the unity of the society and it is very important for Kazakhstan that healthy family values are observed.The National Women’s Council of Kazakhstan will hold an international conference called Family and Social Equity of Generations within the frameworks of the holiday on September 6 in Astana.The National Commission for Women's Affairs and Family Demographic Policies first offered to add the Family Day to the list of professional and other holidays of Kazakhstan back in 2009.
