The draw was conducted on August 25 in Dubai by Executive Vice Chairman of Dubai Duty Free Colm McLoughlin, Senior Vice President for IT & Logistics Ramesh Cidambi, Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Salah Tahlak and Vice President for Marketing Sinead El Sibai.
The 1 million dollar winner from Kazakhstan purchased a lucky ticket online on the official website of Dubai Duty Free at 1,000 dirham ($278).
Omar Samalikov, who is also the first Kazakhstani to win the lottery, did not attend the ceremony, but he will be certainly surprised and excited when he learns the news.
