Akon on food, female beauty in Kazakhstan

American rapper and R&B-singer Akon, who performed in Astana on July 6, shared his impression of beauty and food in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing newspaper Info-Tses.

The singer gave a short press conference for Kazakhstani journalists on July 5, on the eve of the City Day of Astana.

According to the singer, this was his second visit to Kazakhstan. Previously, he came to the largest city of Kazakhstan – Almaty. But his year he came to Astana, the capital of the Central Asian country.

"My first impressions from Astana are very good. There are truly amazing buildings here. Of royal proportions. It is my second time in Kazakhstan. And every time I learn something new about your country, I am pleasantly surprised," Akon said.

The singer told the journalists that his rider was quite simple – water, black towels and a little bit of food.

However, Akon said that he didn’t try any Kazakh food and it was hard for him to even pronounce the names of most of the dishes. “I am a vegetarian, which is why I didn’t eat them,” the singer admitted, though noting that he had been a vegetarian for only a week. It is worth noting that most Kazakh dishes are indeed "meaty" with only some deserts not using meat as an ingredient.
