30 year is the average age of Astana residents, Tengrinews reports citing Imangali Tasmagambetov, Akim (Mayor) of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

He believes that young age is a unifying factors for Astana residents. "Our city is only 15 years old and the average age of its citizens makes 30 year. 45-50 infants are born in Astana every day. This is more than 20 thousand babies a year. There are 110 thousand preschool children and 95 thousand school children in Astana. Besides, there are 85 thousand students in Astana universities and more than 140 thousand young people of up to 29 working in the city," he said.

Young people between the age of 14 and 29 make up more than 30% of the city's population. And according to forecasts the number of young people will exceed 350 thousand by 2020.

олодой город - это жизненное пространство, которое создается невидимой связью его жителей с тонкой и притягательной "душой" самого города и его внутренней экспрессивной силой, формируя тем самым, особый ритм развития", - сказал он на встрече с населением.

"However, the age of a city is measured not only by the age of its residents, but first of all by the atmosphere of youth and dynamics that leaves no person unaffected and inspires the society. In essence, a young city is a living space created from connections among its residents that link each of them with the 'soul' of the city and its force, creating a common rhythm of the city's development," Imangaly Tasmagambetov said.
