A massive wedding ceremony was held in Astana on July 6 - the birthday of Kazakhstan's capital, Tengrinews reports.
30 couples decided to register their marriage on the Astana Day. First, they gathered in Arai park on the left bank of the Ishim river, where the wedding photography session took place. After that, they left an entry in the book for the registration of civil status acts, which proceeded with the exchange of wedding rings.
Then, all pairs escorted by traffic police arrived at the Atameken Memorial Complex on a bus, where their relatives and friends were waiting for them.
One of the most exciting and important moments in their lives - receiving a marriage certificate - happened there, when 30 couples heard those much anticipated words - “I now pronounce you husband and wife".
"Couples of our city knew that the city officials were preparing this event. They were the ones, who wished to take part in this beautiful wedding ceremony in the first place. And, of course, we discussed it and informed them. Every couple that applied participated in this ceremony," a public officer of the mayor's office of Astana Gulnara Sagyndykova said adding that the event was held with the support of the city administration.
The first part of the ceremony ended with all 30 couples lining up to form a heart-shaped figure and releasing dozens of balloons in the air.
After that, every couple had a chance to win either a trip to Turkey, a trip to Borovoye resort area or some household appliances in a lottery organized by the city administration.
