Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree declaring 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan, according to the Akorda press service.
To further advance digitalization and the large-scale adoption of artificial intelligence, the President ordered the following:
- Declare 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
- Instruct the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to take the necessary measures to organize and carry out the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
- Assign oversight of the implementation of this decree to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The decree comes into force on the day it is signed.
It is worth noting that 2026 will be held in Kazakhstan under the banner of digitalization and artificial intelligence. Tokayev made the announcement earlier in his New Year’s address to the nation.
“I have decided to declare the coming year the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The introduction of advanced technologies will strengthen the country’s potential across all sectors,” the President said at the time.
His address also reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s continued course toward modernization, economic and infrastructure development, as well as the preservation of the state’s social priorities.
