Tengrinews.kz – Large-scale road projects planned for this year in Kazakhstan have been announced.
Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev shared this information during a government meeting. According to the minister, the plan includes the repair and construction of 13,000 kilometers of roads, with 9,000 kilometers fully funded.
"For the remaining projects, funding is being worked out with international financial institutions. These include new projects such as Zhezkazgan - Karaganda, Aktobe - Ulgaysyn, Atyrau - Dossor, bypass roads around the cities of Saryagash, Rudny, and Kyzylorda, as well as repairs on a total of 2,600 kilometers of roads. Agreements have already been reached with international financial institutions to finance these projects. Funding sources and feasibility studies have been developed. Additionally, competitive bidding procedures are underway to select contractors in accordance with the conditions of international financial institutions," said Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev.
