Tengrinews.kz – The Department of Energy and Water Supply of Almaty has announced when heating will be turned on in the city’s homes, following the arrival of colder weather.
According to the department, the decision to begin the heating season will be made once the average daily outdoor temperature is consistently at or below +8°C for five consecutive days.
As in previous years, heating will be turned on in stages. Priority will be given to kindergartens, schools, healthcare facilities, vocational schools, and medical-social organizations. Following that, heating will be supplied to residential buildings, dormitories, and hotels. Administrative buildings, universities, theaters, and other institutions will be connected next.
"The work will be carried out according to the approved schedule, ensuring uninterrupted heating supply to consumers," the department stated.
Weather forecast for Almaty over the next few days
On October 2, the weather in the city is expected to be partly cloudy, with rain (mainly during the night). The wind will be from the northwest at 3-8 meters per second, with temperatures ranging from 3-5°C at night and 10-12°C during the day.
On October 3-4, the weather will be partly cloudy with no precipitation. The wind will be from the north at 2-7 meters per second, with temperatures ranging from 3-5°C at night and 13-15°C during the day.
