Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on the sidelines of the Regional Environmental Summit in Astana.
The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening Kazakh-Georgian relations.
The Head of State emphasized that Georgia is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus and confirmed readiness to give bilateral cooperation a new qualitative impetus.
The presidents noted the steady dynamics of cooperation and focused on the need to expand trade and economic ties.
The importance of implementing joint infrastructure and investment projects, expanding business contacts, as well as effectively using the transit and transport potential of the two countries was emphasized.
During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Mikheil Kavelashvili also exchanged views on actual issues of the global and regional agenda.
