Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed concern over the growing prevalence of rudeness, swearing and fights in public spaces, calling such behavior unacceptable for a civilized society. He made the remarks during his annual Address to the Nation.
“Law and order are the unshakable pillars of our statehood. To strengthen this principle, all relevant agencies must develop a common vision and stance. The principle of zero tolerance to any violation or illegality is of primary importance. Only then will society develop immunity to antisocial behavior, cruelty and violence,” Tokayev said.
He stressed that it is especially disturbing to witness scandals and obscene language in public.
“It is unpleasant to see women shouting, using offensive language and engaging in indecent acts in front of others. Such behavior is unacceptable in a cultured, civilized society and damages our country’s reputation on the international stage,” he noted.
According to the President, building a progressive nation requires abandoning negative patterns of behavior.
“To become a progressive nation, we must decisively eliminate such models of conduct. As Abai once said: ‘If a Kazakh is not a friend to another Kazakh, life will be joyless.’ Culture, decency and morality must begin with every citizen, every family,” Tokayev emphasized.
