President of Serbia arrives in Astana

Tengrinews.kz – President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić arrived in Astana on an official visit, as announced by the press service of the government.

Aleksandar Vučić arrived in Kazakhstan's capital at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

At Astana airport, the Serbian president was welcomed with flowers, an honor guard, and a blue carpet.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov met Aleksandar Vučić at the airport.

Kazakh fighter jets escorted the plane with the high guest on board.

According to the government, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Serbia grew by 7.6 percent last year, exceeding 107 million dollars.

The day before, Akorda announced that Vučić would visit Astana on February 26-27 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The visit will include full-scale high-level negotiations.

The two heads of state will discuss the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Serbian relations, with a focus on further strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In May 2025, the leaders of Kazakhstan and Serbia held talks in Moscow. The two heads of state confirmed their mutual commitment to implementing previously reached agreements and agreed to continue dialogue on bilateral and international issues.
