Tengrinews.kz - On Monday, December 30, the last patients injured in the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash near Aktau were sent home from Mangystau Region.

Three Azerbaijani citizens, who had spent six days receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, were repatriated on a special aircraft.

Leyla Omarova, Muslimat Sirajova, and Hafizat Khalaeva, who had been in intensive care at the regional multidisciplinary hospital since December 25, were flown home on a special flight arranged by Azerbaijan.

The condition of all three patients remained stable. One was successfully removed from mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support, and sedatives. For the other two, the dosage of vasopressors was reduced to minimal levels. The medical team worked tirelessly to save their lives.

As of today, there are no plane crash victims left in the Mangystau Regional Multidisciplinary Clinic.

"The doctors of Mangystau Region are very pleased that all 29 survivors have safely returned home," stated the press service of the Mangystau Region governor.

On December 25, a tragic crash occurred three kilometers from Aktau Airport involving an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines. The plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, attempted an emergency landing and broke apart.

Onboard were 62 passengers and 5 crew members: 42 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakh citizens, and 3 Kyrgyz citizens. A total of 29 people survived the crash.
