Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstanis will now be able to travel to Armenia using only their national identity cards, staying for up to 90 days without the need for a visa or registration.

The agreement, ratified by Kazakhstan's Senate, was signed in Yerevan on April 15, 2024. It enhances cooperation between the two countries on migration matters, such as data exchange and efforts to combat illegal migration and dual citizenship. Kazakhstan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Yerzhan Sadenov, explained that the new rules also require citizens to register with Armenian authorities if they stay for more than 30 days.

In addition, the agreement allows for extending stays beyond 90 days through a temporary residence permit and includes the option for Armenian citizens to use their identification cards when entering Kazakhstan. The deal also grants the right to refuse entry or deport individuals deemed undesirable.

While the 90-day stay is not a new policy, the agreement with Armenia officially formalizes these rules, making travel more transparent and convenient for citizens.
