Kazakh man tried to break into “Piter FM” live broadcast - Foreign Ministry investigating

Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan is investigating the case of a 52-year-old Kazakh citizen detained in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

According to Russian media, the man allegedly entered the office of the “Piter FM” radio station under the pretense of being a courier. Once inside, he reportedly disrupted the staff’s work and shouted pacifist slogans.

When asked about the situation, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Isetov said:

“We will look into this matter. The relevant departments and divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will handle it,” he told Tengrinews.kz in the Senate corridors.

What happened

Russian outlets reported that the man was detained by police and charged with minor hooliganism. He was taken to a local police station, where an administrative report was filed. No criminal case has yet been opened, but the possibility is under consideration.

According to reports, the detainee attempted to enter the on-air studio to make a live pacifist statement. Representatives of “Piter FM” claimed the man “was preparing to seize the broadcast studio by force,” and said that plastic zip ties were found in his backpack.
