It can be said with confidence that our athletes contribute to strengthening the nation's health. Being a champion means adding to the glory of the country because the glory of our athletes is the glory of the entire nation and a reflection of our state's authority. We must be proud of every victory our athletes achieve, highly value their hard work, and promote their achievements throughout society. This will help popularize sports and promote a healthy lifestyle in our society. The state will always support you," said the President during the ceremony to honor the winners and medalists of the World Boxing Championship.
The President believes that being a world-renowned athlete is a high responsibility, as champions serve as role models for the younger generation. It is important that they set an example in words, actions, behavior, and lifestyle.
"We must instill in young people a sense of patriotism, hard work, education, discipline, organization, and responsiveness. I consider you, the strongest athletes in our country, worthy of the title of champion. It is well known that reaching the highest level in sports is difficult, but maintaining it is even more challenging. Therefore, one cannot relax basking in the glory of the past. Ahead of us is the main sporting event of the planet – the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Without a doubt, standing on the Olympic podium is the dream of every athlete. The people of Kazakhstan place great hopes on you. To justify this trust, you need to begin preparations for the upcoming competition now. I am confident that the national team's victory at the World Boxing Championship is an important step toward reaching the Olympic peak," he concluded.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan won the overall medal standings at the historic World Boxing Championship, bringing home ten medals from Liverpool, England, seven of which were gold.
