Tengrinews.kz – On April 4, an organic dye called sodium fluorescein (Uranine A) will be added to the heating network system in Astana, which may cause water to turn green. Details were provided by Astana Teplotransit.
According to Astana Teplotransit, the organic dye will help detect heat network water losses caused by hidden pipeline defects, leaks in water heaters, and heating networks of consumers, allowing timely repairs.
"Uranine A is not dangerous for the human body, it is approved for use and permitted in heating systems as a coloring indicator. The use of the dye will not affect the quality of tap water, but if it appears in hot water, it means the water heater has a defect," the statement said.
