Tengrinews.kz – Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon has arrived in Astana.
The Prime Minister’s press service shared footage of Rahmon’s arrival at Astana airport.
Emomali Rahmon is in Kazakhstan’s capital to participate in the “Central Asia - Italy” summit scheduled for May 30, which will gather the region’s heads of state.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who arrived in Kazakhstan on May 29 for an official visit, will also attend the summit. Meloni took part in the Astana International Forum alongside President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and later held talks with him at Akorda.
The “Central Asia Plus” summits are regular meetings between leaders of Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - and heads of other states. These gatherings aim to foster dialogue, strengthen cooperation, and develop common positions on key international issues.
Earlier, Astana airport welcomed the presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Kyrgyzstan’s Sadyr Japarov, and Uzbekistan’s Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
