Tengrinews.kz – Forecasters have warned of a sharp drop in temperatures across Kazakhstan from April 16 to 18.

According to the national weather service, the country will be influenced by two major atmospheric systems during this period. A cyclone moving from west to east will bring unstable weather, including rain and snow, with periods of heavy precipitation.

By the end of the period, northern, eastern and central regions will come under the influence of a northern anticyclone, leading to a significant cooling trend.

Meteorologists also expect fog, strong winds and icy conditions, particularly in the north, east and central parts of the country.

Temperature outlook

Air temperatures are expected to drop as follows:

At the beginning of the period, nighttime temperatures in the north will fall to -1…-8°C, with daytime highs of +1…+8°C;

By the end of the period, eastern regions could see nighttime lows of -2…-18°C, with daytime temperatures ranging from 0 to +13°C.

No major temperature changes are expected in other parts of the country, forecasters added.
