Tengrinews.kz – After several warm autumn days, winter has made an early appearance in northern Kazakhstan, according to the national weather service Kazhydromet.
Overnight temperatures in the northern regions dropped below zero, with rain turning into snow in some areas.
Forecasters say a cold anticyclone is now moving southward, bringing worsening weather to central and southern parts of the country.
On October 1, rain turning to snow is expected in Zhambyl, Almaty and Zhetysu regions. By the night of October 2, precipitation will also reach Turkistan Region.
Daytime temperatures on October 1 are forecast to drop to +5…+10°C, while overnight on October 2 light frosts of –1 to –3°C are expected.
