January 6 – Partly cloudy, snow and blowing snow. Icy conditions during the day. Southwesterly wind at 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s and occasionally up to 23 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -9°C to -11°C, daytime temperatures of -2°C to -4°C.
January 7 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Southwesterly wind at 5–10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -12°C to -14°C, daytime temperatures of -10°C to -12°C.
January 8 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Southwesterly to southerly wind at 2–7 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -15°C to -17°C, daytime temperatures of -10°C to -12°C.
Weather forecast for Almaty
January 6 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Fog expected at night and in the morning. Southeasterly wind at 2–7 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -3°C to -5°C, daytime temperatures of +2°C to +4°C.
January 7 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Fog at night and in the morning. Northwesterly wind at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -3°C to -5°C, daytime temperatures of +3°C to +5°C.
January 8 – Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Fog at night and in the morning. Northeasterly wind at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures of -3°C to -5°C, daytime temperatures of +3°C to +5°C.
Earlier, forecasters also released a nationwide forecast for Kazakhstan for January 6–8. Cyclones are expected to continue moving into the country, bringing precipitation. Rain, snow and icy conditions are forecast in the west, while snow and blizzards are expected in the north, east and central regions. No precipitation is forecast in the south and southeast. Temperatures will rise in the west, while colder weather is expected in the north, east and central parts of the country.
