Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that social and tourism infrastructure in Alatau needs to be developed intensively, citing the Akorda press service.
The President spoke at a meeting on the city’s development.
“It would not be an exaggeration to say that there have been no concrete results in this area so far. Meanwhile, tourism is now considered a key component of investment attractiveness. According to the General Plan, the city’s population may exceed two million people by 2050. It is clear that such growth will create a serious burden both on utility networks and social infrastructure. Alatau currently has a very limited number of new social facilities. Despite this, businesses are ready to invest in infrastructure,” he said.
The President also stressed that the task of the Alatau Development Council and the city administration is to create clear rules for investment returns, with specific mechanisms and timelines, as well as a fair distribution of burdens and risks.
During the event, the Head of State also named the creation of the most comfortable conditions for investors as a priority task. The President added that it is necessary to ensure high-quality organization of processes and build a sustainable ecosystem to scale up investment inflows.
