January 1:

Partly cloudy. Snow, blizzard and icy conditions at night. Southerly wind at 9–14 m/s, with nighttime gusts of 15–20 m/s. Night temperature: -10 to -12°C; daytime: -8 to -10°C.

Unusual New Year weather across Kazakhstan

Earlier, forecasters presented a weather outlook for Kazakhstan for the next three days. Snow with blizzards, rain, fog, icy conditions and strong winds are expected in various regions of the country on December 30–31 and during the first hours of the New Year. Temperature patterns will vary significantly: while subzero temperatures persist in the north, southern regions may see thermometers rise to double-digit positive values.
