The suspect was a 30-year-old employee of the club. Preliminary data suggests that the suspect had been selling synthetic drugs to the club's clients for a long time.
"Police carried out special operations during which instances of synthetic drug sales were recorded. During the arrest, synthetic drugs mephedrone were found and seized from the 30-year-old suspect. Additionally, 40 traumatic cartridges were confiscated during a sanctioned search of the nightclub," reported the press service of the Karaganda region police department.
A search was also conducted in the rented apartment where the suspect lived. Police seized various devices for drug use.
"These included zip-lock bags, smoking pipes, a device for drug consumption, electronic scales, and mobile phones. A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident, and a thorough investigation is underway. The main suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility," the department added.
There was also a similar case when a married couple was arrested in Almaty during a special operation.
