Tengrinews.kz - Moscow's first reaction to Republican Donald Trump's victory in the US elections has become known, according to BBC.

"As for congratulations, I am not aware of the president's plans to congratulate Trump. Still, let's not forget that we are talking about an unfriendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our state," Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

When asked by journalists whether Trump was offended that Putin would not congratulate him and whether this would worsen Russian-American relations, Peskov replied that "it is practically impossible to worsen them any further."

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also spoke about the outcome of the US elections:

"Trump has one quality that is useful to us: as a businessman to the core, he mortally dislikes spending money on various hangers-on and freeloaders," he said.

President Vladimir Putin did not comment on Trump's victory.

Who has already congratulated Trump on his victory?
