Tengrinews.kz — Residents of Almaty witnessed a disturbing scene on April 27 — a half-naked man was walking along Bukhar Zhyrau Street with a knife in his hand.
What happened
A video was published on social media showing a man in his underwear walking along the street holding an object resembling a knife. Residents of nearby houses called the police.
What police say
The Almaty Police Department reported that the offender has been identified and detained.
“This is a foreign citizen born in 1990. At the time of detention, he behaved inappropriately and could not provide a clear explanation for his actions. Violations of migration legislation were also established,” the department said.
The man has now been placed in a temporary detention facility.
