Tengrinews.kz - American billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform X and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has broken his own record to once again become the richest person in the world, according to RIA Novosti.

"Elon Musk’s net worth hit an all-time high of $347.8 billion on Friday," writes Bloomberg.

This achievement is partly attributed to the continued growth of Tesla shares. Additionally, Donald Trump's recent victory in the U.S. presidential election has brought Musk into the political spotlight. Musk's previous record, $340.4 billion, was set in November 2021.

Jeff Bezos ranks second on the Bloomberg list with a net worth of $219 billion.

On October 1, Forbes also reported that Musk remains the wealthiest person in America for the third consecutive year, with his fortune estimated at $244 billion at the time.

Following his presidential win, Trump announced plans to appoint Elon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, a former Republican presidential candidate, to lead a new department aimed at improving government efficiency. Musk stated that the appointment would "shock the system" and challenge those benefiting from government budget inefficiencies.

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel called Trump's intention to appoint Musk unprecedented, arguing that governance should maintain a social balance between influential figures and ordinary citizens.
