Karaganda resident Andrey Tikhonov won the second season of X-Factor Kazakhstan music show, Tengrinews.kz reports. He won the super prize of the show: five million tenge ($33,800) and a contract with Sony Music Entertainment. 24-y.o. Andrey collected more votes than MEZZO band. Each of the finalists sang three songs in the final round of the show. The participants sang their last song with famous singers. Andrey Tikhonov sang Since you've been gone hit with Danish Tomas N’evergreen, and MEZZO quartet performed with Belorussian Dmitry Koldun. More than 13,500 candidates took part in the casting for the second season of the show. 18 non-professional singers were selected for the semi-final. Only nine participants (Sanda, Andrey Tikhonov, Yerken Kenebayev, Alina Bektassova, Ainura Yeshamnova, Timur Imandzhanov, MEZZO band, Brilliants and W-you) reached the final. The first season of X-Factor Kazakhstan show kicked off in October 2011. Darya Gabdul from Astana became the first winner of the project.
