Record high temperature registered in Astana

Temperature record was beaten in Astana on April 14. Temperature reached 27 degrees Centigrade. Maximum temperature record was beaten in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Marzhan Kussainova, head of KazHydroMet weather service's department for short-term forecasts. “The absolute maximum of 23 degrees Centigrade in Astana was registered on April 13, 1977. On April 13, 2011, temperature rose to 24.5 degrees above zero. At 2 p.m. on April 14 it reached 27 degrees Centigrade setting a new absolute temperature record,” Kussainova said. The expert said that average temperature in Astana in April is usually a little over 5 degrees above zero. Average for Almaty is +12 degrees Centigrade. “The absolute maximum in Almaty has is not been beaten although there have been hot days this year. On April 14 the temperature reached 29 degrees Centigrade, same as in 2001,” the expert said.
