21 artillery volleys were made in honor of Nursultan Nazarbayev in Malaysia, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s official website. On April 18 Nursultan Nazarbayev had an official meeting with the Supreme Head of Malaysia 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdul Halim and Malaysian Prime-Minister Najib Tun Razak. “In a short period of time Malaysia has gone all the way from an agrarian country to the ‘new industrial state’, entering the third millennium as one of the leaders of economic growth. You country has made a significant impact into development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that Kazakhstan currently chairs. This year we have celebrated the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. I am sure that this will help further enhance our bilateral partnership,” the President’s press-service cited Nursultan Nazarbayev. At the end of the ceremony Kazakhstan President held an informal talk with Malaysian Supreme Head. 21 artillery volleys mean a particularly official form of greeting or honor timed to the visit of the country’s president or the government, foreign ship’s official friendly visit of the port and several other cases.
