Kazakhstan government has set the bottom retail prices of cigarettes, Tengrinews.kz reports. The decision was published in the media today, on March 20, and will come into force in 10 days. The decision reads: “The bottom retail prices on filter cigarettes (for one pack) shall be set at: 1. 90 tenge ($0.61) for 45-85 millimeter-long cigarettes +/- 1 millimeter, 2.100 tenge ($0.68) for 87.1-160 millimeter-long cigarettes +/- 1 millimeter. The newly adopted decree is called the Decree of Kazakhstan government On Alteration of the governmental decree №260 dated April 4, 2007 “On regulation of bottom retail prices of filter cigarettes prices regulation”. The previous bottom prices of filter cigarettes were set at 60 ($0.41) and 70 ($0.47) tenge.
