Duty-free Russian crude will be supplied to Kazakhstan until 2014, Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund Head Umirzak Shukeev announced February 27 when speaking at the sitting of the Nur Otan fraction, Newskaz.ru reports. According to the Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev, Russia exports to Kazakhstan about 7 million of crude a year. “After 2014 the two nations will be relying on swap operations: we will be sending Kazakh oil in the West and receiving Russian oil in the North”, he said. “Kazakhstan still keeps prices for petroleum products at a lower level than that in Russia. But we must not allow a substantial price gap of 40% as it was last year (…) The difference may be within 10-20%”, he said. At the same sitting Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintayev announced that the Ministry had adjusted its oil production output forecast for 2012 from the earlier 83 million tons to 80 million tons.
