Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry will try to reach justice in the case of Kirill Denyakin’s murder in the U.S., Tengrinews.kz reports citing official representative of the Ministry. “We express our deep concerns. It is known that Stephen D. Rankin shot 11 bullets at unarmed Kirill Denyakin. We think that the court’s decision contradicts major international legislative principles and human right to life. We will continue raising this issue at all levels trying to obtain justice,” Altai Abibullayev said on February 13. According to the Ministry’s official representative, Kazakhstan embassy in the U.S. is planning to continue fighting for the rights of the Kazakhstan citizen murdered in the U.S. “Right now it (Kazakhstan embassy in the U.S.) maintains a constant contact with the family of Kirill Denyakin, as well as the lawyers who will protect their interests in the civil court at the trial scheduled for February 28,” Abibullayev said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that criminal charges against the U.S. policeman were dropped by Portsmouth court. 26-year-old Karaganda citizen Kirill Denyakin was shot by policeman Stephen D. Rankin in Portsmouth on April 23. Denyakin was unarmed, but the police officer made 11 shots killing him on the spot. Before the tragedy Denyakin had been working as a Portsmouth hotel cook for 2 years.
