Gani Kasymov to increase wages for Kazakh language

As part of his election platform Presidential candidate Gani Kasymov promises to increase wages of those who can speak Kazakh language. Senator Kasymov is proposing to introduce a three-leveled remuneration system to promote knowledge of Kazakh language by all the citizens of Kazakhstan. Citizens who are fluent in Kazakh will be receiving supplements to the wages in the amount of 30% of their wages. The medium level of knowledge of Kazakh language will involve a supplement in the amount of 20%. And the basic knowledge will be rewarded with a 10% supplement. The level of knowledge of the language will be determined by a language commission that will be authorized to issue certificates. Presidential candidate Gani Kasymov promises to introduce the remuneration system into the law and to keep it in effect till 2025. Kazakh language is the state language of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Ethnic Kazakhs constitute over 60% of the county’s population.
