April 8, 2011 Astana hosted inauguration of re-elected Nursultan Nazarbayev, Tengrinews.kz journalist reports. The ceremony started at 11 a.m. Astana time. Nursultan Nazarbayev took the oath of office. The ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence. It was not by accident this venue was chosen: this year Kazakhstan is celebrating its 20th anniversary of independence. Deputy corps, ministers, public officials, including those of the Constitutional Council and Central Election Commission were among those in the attendance. Kuandyk Turgankulov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), presented him Presidential inaugural certificate. As Nursultan Nazarbayev was on his way to the Palace of Independence, the National Guardsmen brought out emblems of the state and the Constitution to the stage. At the entrance Nursultan Nazarbayev was greeted by thousands of Kazakhstan’s residents. 5 cannon-shots roared to celebrate the 5-year tenure. The inauguration ceremony started with the national anthem.
