First session of the new Parliament to open January 20

President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a decree to call the first session of the newly-formed Parliament for January 20, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the President’s official website. The session is to start at 10:00 a.m. Astana time, according to the decree. According to the legislation, the country’s Majilis (lower chamber) is to hold a vote of confidence in the government. January 17 the Central Election Committee announced the final results of the Majilis elections. The newly-formed Majilis comprises of Nur Otan, Ak Zhol and Communist People’s Party.
