216 Kazakhstan students were awarded with Bolashak scholarship

216 claimants got Bolashak scholarship, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the official website of the President of Kazakhstan. The decision was made at the meeting of the National Commission on Personnel Training Abroad. “The Commission has also approved the list of priority branches of study for 2012. It included 74 professions now. Master and PhD students only will travel abroad to study under Bolashak scholarship in 2012,” the press-release reads. The Commission received applications from 389 candidates in total said Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Most of the candidates applied for study in the UK. There were 159 of such applicants. 91 students wished to study in the U.S., 34 – in Russia, 19 – in Germany. The others chose such countries like France, Italy, Australia, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Czech Republic, Canada, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland. 328 candidates applied for Master programs, 2 for PhD programs and 59 for internship. Bolashak scholarship was established in 1993 by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Bolashak means "Future" in Kazakh. The scholarship has been awarded for Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees studies (since 2005) and for interns (since 2008). It fully covers all the study related costs (tuition fees, accommodation expenses, book allowances, medical insurance, travel expenses, entry visas and other registration costs, application fees, etc). It is fully funded by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
