Kazakhstan cyclist Aleksander Vinokourov is to sue Swiss magazine L'Illustre that wrote that he bribed Russian cyclist Aleksander Kolobnev to win Liege-Bastogne-Liege race in 2010, Sportinfo.kz writes. “I cannot allow any gossips around me. People who want my scalp are behind this case. It is strange that everything happened a few days after I announced my intention to take part in the coming elections. This is violation of my private life. How can you explain that the letters accidently appear on the journalist’s desk and he doesn’t know where they are coming from. My lawyers will persecute everyone who invades my rights,” press-service of Astana cycling team cites Vinokourov. L'Illustre states that the cyclist paid Kolobnev 100 thousand Euro for not resisting him in the final of the race. Swiss journalists analyzed the emails written by Vinokourov and Koblenev and realized that the riders pre-agreed on the final result of the race.
