Delicacy known to every Kazakhstan resident could get into the Guinness Book of Records. Karaganda bakers made the longest baursak in the world frying 4800 pasta pieces and making a 141-meter long thread, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the Moskovskiy Komsomolets. The baursak baking was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan and took place in a private resort. Tatyana Beloussova, director of the sports resort, said that the bakers used 20 kilograms of sugar, 15 kilograms of yeast, 10 kilos of sour cream, 50 liters of cooking oil and 250 kilos of flours to bake the baursaks. 30 cooks were baking the dish day and night. Photos and videos of the completed thread were made. “Now these photos and video will be sent to the Guinness Book of Records international committee,” Beloussova said. After the record was recorded on video the cooks took off the baursaks from the thread, packed them and offered them to Karaganda citizens in the streets. “We treated about 6000 residents,” Beloussova said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that Karaganda cooks planned to bake 200-meter long baursak weighted about 200-250 kilos.
