Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Ambassador Ikram Adyrbekov in Beijing in relation to completion of his mission in China, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry. Yang Jiechi pointed out that Kazakhstan-Chinese relations have been undergoing accelerated and dynamic development in the past years. Kazakhstan-Chinese interactions have become a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2011, the press-service's message states. Congratulating Ikram Adyrbekov on his accession into Kazakhstan's Senate, China's Foreign Minister expressed confidence that this event would positively effect further strengthening of strategic partnership between Astana and Beijing. Adyrbekov thanked Yang Jiechi for continuous support of Chinese Foreign Ministry to the embassy's activities and assured him that after his appointment he would certainly use the gained experience for further promotion of friendly and good-neighborly relations and mutually-beneficial partnership between the two countries. Adyrbekov headed Kazakhstan representative office in China since February 2007. In November 2011 he was released from Ambassador's position and was appointed Senator by the President's decree.
