Cargo Boeing 747-8F landed in Almaty for the first time

New-generation cargo airplane Boeing 747-8F landed in Almaty international airport for the first time. The aircraft flying Luxemburg – Baku – Almaty – Shanghai landed at 12:36 p.m. on November 28, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Almaty international airport.
The Cargolux Airlines airplane unloaded 69 tons of cargo. Boeing 747-8F spent a little over an hour at the airport. “We were the first ones to buy the cargo version of the new Boeing. We received the first two planes in October this year,” Director General of Nomad Cargo and representative of Cargolux Airlines in Kazakhstan Bekpulat Salimov said.
The new cargo plane was expected for a long time. It was announced in 2005, but the official presentation of Boeing was delayed for several reasons. The new aircraft is different from its previous modification 747-400 by its cost effeciency. Besides, Boeing 747-8F is more quiet and ecology-friendly. Load capacity of the plane is 20 tons higher than that of its previous version and 747-8F is 6 meters longer than Boeing 747-400.
