Kiev offered Astana to cooperate in space industry

Kiev and Astana could establish a partnership in space industry, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing Ukrainian Prime-Minister Nikolai Azarov. “Ukraine has a highly-developed space industry. Despite of the fact that we haven’t been investing into its development in the last 20 years, we have just started working on it large scale. Nevertheless, our rocket-carriers are still the best in the world,” Azarov said during the lecture in Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana. He stressed that “until now neither the United States, nor the European Union have come close to the load capacity parameters and many other parameters that our rocket carriers have”. “We are manufacturing and using the satellites, we have manufactures the Sea Start unit, i.e. we have created the sea cosmodrome and have successfully launched rockets from it. In partnership with Brazil we are currently building a joint cosmodrome in Brazil. I have given just a few examples to show the level of development of the technologies in Ukraine. And we are offering Kazakhstan to work together in this direction, as this is the direction of the future,” Ukrainian Prime-Minister stressed.
