Yertysbayev: Kazakhstan Government will resign on January 16, 2012

Kazakhstan Government will resign right after the early Majilis elections of January 15, 2012, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing Advisor to Kazakhstan President Yermukhamet Yertysbayev. “I know what will be the process. The elections will be held on January 15. The Government will resign the next day,” he said in the interview to Channel 7 on Thursday. According to him, the first meeting of the newly elected parliament will be held afterwards to form up a new government. “The President will suggest the candidates for positions of Prime-Minister, Ministers, that will be coordinated with Nur Otan party, that will win, I'm sure. It will be forming up the government,” Advisor said and added that the new government is likely to reperesent more than one political party. The party that comes second at the elections after the Nur Otan is likely to have its represetatives in the cabinet as well, he said. Earlier Yertysbayev said that in his opinion Nur Otan and Ak Zhol parties will win at the early elections. “We will enter the year 2012 with a new parliament and new government, solving new tasks and achieving new goals,” Yertysbayev said. Meanwhile, according to the Constitution, Kazakhstan Prime-Minister will raise the issue of trust to the government in the newly elected Majilis. In case the Majilis expresses confidence, the government will continue operating, unless otherwise is decided by the President. But if the Majilis will give a no-confidence vote, the government will resign. After that the President will consider such resignation within 10 days. The early elections of Majilis deputies elected via party lists is appointed for January 15, 2012. Elections of Majilis deputies elected by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan will be held on January 16, 2012. Elections to Maslikhats (local representative bodies) will be held at the same time. According to the legislation, Majilis is made of 107 deputies. 98 deputies are elected via party lists and 9 of them are delegated by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. http://tengrinews.kz/kazakhstan_news/201799/
