Finance Minister Bolat Zhamishev does not rule out that dissolving of the Majilis (lower chamber of the Parliament) and forming of a new chamber may cause the Kazakhstan government to resign, KazTAG reports. “The Constitution does not provide for an automatic resignation of the Government (in case of early Majilis elections), but anyway, if the parliament is dissolved and new elections are appointed, the new parliament, I think, will be considering a new Government in January,” Zhamishev said. He also noted that the Cabinet has been working for 5 years and the Government “has been successfully facing the challenges during that period and, first of all, the consequences of the global financial crisis”. On November 10 53 members of the Majilis (lower chamber of the Parliament) applied to the Presidents with a request to dissolve lower chamber. On the same day Advisor to the President assumed that Nursultan Nazarbayev will support the deputies' initiative and that the elections will be held in the middle of January 2012. Today Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a degree desolving the lower chamber of the Parliament and scheduled the early elections for January 15.
