Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Vietnam with an official visit on October 30, Tengrinews.kz special correspondent reports. The meeting ceremony in the airport included guard of honor. This is the first official visit of Nazarbayev to Vietnam. Official events with participation of the President have started on October 31. The visit will last until November 1.
Nazarbayev is planning to hold talks with president Truong Tan Sang. The meeting of two presidents is aimed at “boosting further development of bilateral relations in different areas”. It is expected that Kazakhstan and Vietnam will sign several bilateral documents: on mutual aid in civil and commercial affairs, cooperation in education, tourism and Agreement on cooperation in civil aviation.
Kazakhstan-Vietnamese business-forum is planned to be held as well. Besides, Nursultan Nazarbayev is planning to meet with Secretary General of the Communist Party and chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam. Meetings in the national university and literature temple are also planned to be held during Kazakhstan President’s visit.
Commodities turnover between the countries made $88.4 million in 2009. It was $38.2 million in 2010 and $33.3 million for 8 months of 2011.
