Chairman of the Spiritual Management of Muslims of Kazakhstan Absattar Hadji Derbissali called Kazakhstan residents to stay calm and to not take the threats of earlier unknown Islamic group Djund Al-Khalifat (Soldiers of Khalifat) seriously, Tengrinews.kz reports. Derbisali added that he hadn't watched the extremists' video-address. The Supreme Mufti deems the threats unreasonable and empty, considering that Kazakhstan was threatened before the law was adopted. “This is nonsense. There is no need to panic and disturb the people,” Derbissali said and promised to watch the video and give his comments on it. In any case, he asked to not take it seriously. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Djund Al-Khalifat uploaded a video threatening Kazakhstan with violence in case the authorities do not cancel the Law on Religion. According to the extremists, the policies pursued by the Kazakhstan authorities are similar to those of Libya and Egypt, where the Arab revolutions took place. By Zhuldyz Seisenbekova
